The film (and the acting) is superbly done,  but the story is intense. I like it for its' dark, thick, &amp;quot;Cul du Sac&amp;quot; psychology but it is certainly not for everyone for that very reason. Set in isolated, rural France makes this film all the more desperate. The film is about strenuous relationships, loyalty - and despair. It is about accepting hardships without really understanding them. It is also about pity and how it is to be distinguished from love and admiration. I&#39;ve seen many French films with the same intensity and I'm guessing that it will be mostly the French who will enjoy this film. The acting is superb in this film – if you&amp;#39;re in the right state of mind and don't loose your concentration. Jean-François Stevenin ALWAYS impresses me. He doesn&amp;#39;t disappoint me here either. For general audiences, however, I&amp;#39;d recommend his performance in &quot;Deux Lions au Soleil" which is much more easily palatable than &amp;quot;Peux de Vaches&quot;. Despite the fact that I like &amp;quot;Peux de Vaches", I have difficulties recommending it to anyone other than French audiences and perhaps someone with a morose demeanor.　　The film (and the acting) is superbly done, but the story is intense.
